Vintage 1980 Washington Dee Cee Red Corduroy Overalls Size - Youth 11/12
Washington Dee Cee dusty pink corduroy bib overalls in petite fit. Soft, broken-in cotton corduroy with that perfect faded rose color that only comes from decades of honest wear. Classic Dee Cee workwear construction — adjustable shoulder straps with metal buckles, snap-closure bib pocket, hammer/carpenter loop, side button hip closures, snap-closure front fly, and seven pockets total.
Washington Dee Cee was founded in Tennessee in 1925 and built its reputation as one of America's most respected workwear manufacturers — their overalls and dungarees were standard issue across factory floors, farms, and railroads for most of the 20th century. The date code on the inner tag (8-80) places this piece in August 1980, with the WPL5493 registration confirming Washington Dee Cee manufacture.
A note on sizing — Washington Dee Cee produced workwear in a wide size range, from children's through adult mens. Tagged sizes like 11/12 fall in their youth/junior range, but the proportions often suit petite adult women (5'2"–5'5") who find true adult sizing too long in the leg. This piece is a great example: tagged as a youth size but cut and constructed for real wear, with a 32" total waist and full hardware. Crosses cleanly between junior and petite adult — and was likely worn either way during its lifetime.
A note on fit: 31" inseam runs short — best for petites or anyone who likes a cropped/ankle-grazing length. On taller frames (5'8"+), expect a high-water/cropped silhouette.
